Franchise businesses such as McDonald's, Burger King, and Kall Kwik Printing, are booming. The people setting up franchise ideas and businesses know a good thing, and are really promoting this idea. Franchises for just about every conceivable kind of business are being sold in ever increasing numbers. Some franchises are very good. They treat both the franchiser and the franchisee very well. Others are very one-sided. Others are almost total rip-offs, that trap one into paying ten to fifty ...

So what do these two things have in common? On the surface, not much. If your objective is to have a long and successful career with an online business, then sustaining business success is much the same as sustaining a long and successful marriage. Recently I attended the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents. As I listened to them answer questions about their life and marriage, and how they succeeded, I could see similar traits or characteristics with an online business. I've been married for ...

Copyright 2005 Kathy Paauw "You will never find time for anything. You must make it." -Charles Buxton According to the organizers of Take Back Your Time Day, which was held on October 15, if Americans quit working on that date and didn't work for the rest of the year, we would be working the same number of hours as the average European. Even with high unemployment, America has experienced near-record mandatory overtime. The October 11, 2004 issue of Time magazine reports that on a typical day ...

You can't reach many prospects at a time, and it takes way too much time to visit them, or at least enough of them to matter, right? WRONG! Look at any established, successful 'netpreneuer and you will see that most of them personally host or moderate some type of bulletin board, plus they frequently post in others as well. ...

The conventional wisdom is that outsourcing has been very bad for the U.S. Information Technology workforce. After all, now that a company can transfer the work of a $50/hour U.S. programmer to an equally skilled programmer in India or Romania and pay only $5/hour for the same job, what are U.S. workers to do? Ross Perot once famously described the result of job loss as the 'Giant Sucking Sound''from the movement of the jobs overseas. Virtually every newsgroup, blog and magazine ...

© 2004, John Calder http://www.TheEzine.net Recently there were several posts on an Internet marketing forum discussing whether affiliate marketing was easy. Specifically, the original poster was angry because he said it seemed every marketing product promised "easy affiliate riches", but that he wasn't finding it that easy, and wasn't having much success so far. It's certainly true that some sales letters over-hype, both inside and outside the Internet marketing field. But what about it? Is ...

When I travel, I've got standards set for such things as hotels where I get booked. They must be in a safe area, clean and reasonably close to the client site. My flights must be prebooked -- never standby -- on a major carrier and, unfortunately, coach class. My rental car must be from a major provider, not be a subcompact and have power seats - so I can see over the steering wheel and reach the pedals. These are my basic required standards for business travel, however, best practices take me ...
